Surgery Date Confirmed- 21st November 2017!

Hello Everyone, Sorry It's been a while since last posting. I had my joint clinic on the 2nd of August and they gave me my surgery date! I was a bit apprehensive about if I'd get my date or not so I tried not to get to excited and hopeful just in case I was let down at the appointment. I walked into the room after waiting half an hour extra due to the clinic times running over, by this time I was the only patient in the waiting room. Overwhelmingly there was so many health care professionals in the room which made me feel slightly anxious about the whole process. However it went really well and I wasn't in there long. I was able to look at x-rays and moulds of my teeth from the start of the process before braces at 13/14 years old to very recently post surgery. The change was phenomenal! The surgeon moved the moulds to the position that my teeth and jaw would sit after surgery and I was gobsmacked. Going from a massive overbite to no overbite at all made me beam with ha

Hello everyone! Welcome to Holly's Jaw Surgery 2017... My Journey so far... This blog is set up in hope that it will help and inspire those whom are thinking of jaw surgery or those who are undergoing this process to ask questions relating to the jaw surgery process. I hope to be helpful with the information I give.  l et me introduce myself, I am Holly. I am currently 20 years of age and have a class three maloculsision under bite. Looking back to old photos there is a slight under bite present but this wasn't really an issue for me until I began noticing it more when I was in my teenage years at about 13 when I first had braces. Originally I only had braces on my top set of teeth, which I thought was odd, however it now makes sense to me as having them again at 19 on both sets has worsened my bite.
